Air Signs

What happens
when your wings get tired
from flight
and being grounded
seems a mystery

can air hold you forever?
can you keep growing
higher and higher?
how do you decide
where to perch?
where to land?

how to flow endlessly
how to let the wind take you
where it wishes
even when the change is abrupt

do the clouds ever long
to touch, not merely kiss
the land?

Trying to Remember

You can hold onto each moment
And believe you will remember it
But time and feelings are so fleeting

You can say that later you will be able to
Put yourself in these same shoes
But you’ve run marathons in those soles
And had to throw them out

You can freeze time by writing it all down
And try to bring life from the pages you thumb

What you feel today
What emotions flutter
Will never be as true, as real, as right now
Bask in them

New moments and emotions
Will find you again tomorrow

Que Sera, Sera

If I let it be
Let it go
Let it flow

Would it look any different?
Or would it just feel different?

If I’m still asking this question
Then I still haven’t learned

This is not a guessing game

This is the deep breath of
Listening and simply
Letting it grow

Being Present

The sun will set
Regardless of where your eyes rest
You can choose where to lay your feet
For those moments

It won’t quite matter to the sun
It only matters to you
You can choose to thank your eyes and your feet
For where they are

Or you can ache for a different view

When Adventure Goes Viral

We crave epic
But don’t breathe in the moment
Allowing
The view of the horizon
The goosebumps from the breeze
The inhalation of the earth
Open your soul
Relax your shoulders
Calm your running mind

It’s only fragmented pictures
Of what should be brilliantly illuminated memories
It’s only a witty description
Not the emotion and intent behind the journey
It’s faceless strangers
Not a community of both passion and peace

I hope you can escape
This whirlwind badass hyperactive society

I hope you find a quiet night
In the juniper trees
With bright stars
And calm musings

I hope you manifest contentment.
I hope you find satisfaction.
I hope you reverberate acceptance.
I hope in every breath you take, you exude peace.

Hyperactive Privilege

It’s like I’m either
spiraling, floating, or charging

I could be anyone

anywhere

do anything

It’s like the opportunities are
shaken-up beer cans
overflowing foam that you
sip at panicked
not sure if this is actually what you want to be drinking

choice overland
inside a hyper and overreactive mind
sometimes I’d like to drown myself in that beer can

Everything, Everywhere, All At Once

Floating flowing
Air meets water meets earth meets fire
Tough combo for a
High achiever
Well balanced but always seeking balance
Brainwashed bamboozled
By “the right way”

I’ve seen your life
I don’t want it
Let me fly flee freeform
I promise I’ll transcend you

You’ll never understand

I have no idea who I am
